In this study, we proposed various catalysts and synthetic methods to enhance hydrogen production efficiency in the methane pyrolysis process, aiming to replace precious metal catalysts. Notably, nickel-based nanocomposites demonstrated excellent pyrolysis performance with high activity. Specifically, Ni-Co and Ni-CNT nanocomposites were successfully synthesized using a triple thermal plasma system. The nickel-based alloy catalysts exhibited higher hydrogen selectivity compared to pure nickel. This study highlights the potential of synthesizing nickel-based nanocomposites using a triple thermal plasma system for methane pyrolysis.
